After a fun summer, we approach a busy renewal season. During this time, we have the opportunity to review and reflect on how our customers are doing with their captive programs. It’s one of my favorite times of the year. The employers and their advisors can see first-hand how their decision to go the captive route is saving them money. Stories about flat costs, excess funds in the employers’ bank accounts and claim trends moving downward are exciting and validating. I only wish I could get the word out quicker.
We also have the opportunity to improve the mousetrap and add cost control features to the employers’ programs. One of the pillars of our captive solutions is Transparency. The great advantage of Transparency is you get to see and get ahead of challenges. If there is a claim trend going the wrong way, the captive solution offers you the opportunity to take control and fix it. The world is not perfect. Challenges, including claims, confront every employer. Being informed about the details behind a challenge allow for options like pharmacy carve outs, alignment of plan design incentives and community networks to be applied. Transparency coupled with Control, and ultimately Cost Savings, makes for a rewarding renewal season.
